JOB SUMMARY
The Intermodal Intern will assist the Office of Intermodal with projects related to aviation, rail, freight, transit, and transportation planning. The intern will support staff with research, data analysis, mapping, and coordination efforts that help improve Georgia’s multimodal transportation network. Duties may include reviewing transportation data, assisting with reports and presentations, attending meetings, and supporting special projects related to aviation, rail, freight, and transit programs.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with transportation research, data analysis, and reports
• Support aviation, rail, freight, and transit projects
• Assist with GIS mapping and data tracking
• Attend meetings and assist with project coordination
• Provide administrative and project support to Intermodal staff
The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Qualifications.
STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS
• Student enrolled in a Georgia high school, technical college, or university/college. Must be currently enrolled during the internship.
AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Currently enrolled in a college or university program in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Strong interest in human resources management and organizational development.
• Ability to work onsite up to 20 hours per week.
• Overall GPA of 2.0 of better
• Fall of previous year academic transcript
• Meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States; 18 years of age
• Meet any additional requirements of the attending school's Internship Program
AGENCY SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Current college student majoring in Aviation, Transportation, Civil Engineering, Logistics, Urban Planning, GIS, Data Analytics, Public Administration, or related field
• Basic knowledge or interest in aviation, rail, freight, or transit
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a professional office environment
AGENCY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Coursework or experience related to aviation, rail, freight, transit, transportation planning, logistics, or data analysis
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and data tracking/analysis
• Familiarity with GIS or mapping software (ArcGIS preferred)
• Strong research, communication, and organizational skills
• Interest in transportation infrastructure and multimodal transportation systems

IMPORTANT NOTE:
This is a temporary internship position. Interns are paid on an hourly basis in accordance with their current academic classification as of the previous Fall Semester. This position does not include benefits, earned leave, or paid holidays. Interns may work up to 40 hours per week during the program period.
The pay for this position is as follows:
• (0–59 semester hours): $20.00 per hour
• (60–120 semester hours): $21.00 per hour
• Graduate students (must hold a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a graduate program): $23.00 per hour
