AGENCY PREFERRED COMPETENCIES:
· Possesses basic knowledge of state and federal laws related to environmental compliance such as the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA), The Clean Air Act (CAA), and 23 CFR 772 Procedures for Abatement of Highway Traffic Noise.
· Knowledge or experience with any of the following: Traffic Noise Model v2.5, MOVES, ArcGIS, CAL3QHC, and/or MicroStation or other CAD programs.
· Familiarity with Environmental studies.
· Basic understanding of transportation planning and/or engineering principles.
· Ability to use basic computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
· Strong oral communication skills and the ability to effectively express ideas and facts to individuals or groups.
· Strong analytical/problem solving skills. Is able to generate and evaluate alternatives and to recommend a sound solution that relies on new methods and procedures if necessary.
Ability to work effectively with others to find mutually acceptable solutions
