POSITION:     Nurse Aide Instructor, Part Time

Description: The Nurse Aide Instructor is responsible for performing all aspects of instructions for the program.

 

Major Duties:

·         Provide instruction in the theory and practical applications of Nurse Aide. 

·         Engage learners in the Nurse Aide program using a variety of learning experiences and activities including lecture, lab, clinical, and simulated learning environments.

·         Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.

·         Instructional duties include course design and development of lesson plans, instruction, assessment, and evaluation with efficient maintenance of classroom records, and instruction in the clinical setting.

·         Faculty teaching in the Nurse Aide program will also be expected to attend clinical with students and develop and maintain clinical relationships. 

Competencies:

        Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education

        Knowledge of academic course standards

        Knowledge of the college’s academic programs

        Skill to work cooperatively with students, faculty and staff

        Skill in the preparation and delivery of classroom content

        Skill to make timely decisions

        Skill in the operation of computers and job related software programs

        Decision making and problem solving skills

        Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public

        Oral and written communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Nursing
  • Georgia Nurse license in good standing
  • Minimum one (1) year long term care nursing experience
  • Train the Trainer Certification
