Job Title: New Options Waiver/Comprehensive Supports Waiver Prior Authorization Billing Specialist- Thomasville
Pay Grade: J
Job Summary:
➢ Serves as the customer service contact and subject matter expert to providers, individuals, families, partner
agencies and DBHDD staff regarding billing and approval processes for Medicaid waiver and DBHDD state
funded services.
➢ Authorizes services including Individual Support Plan and version change approvals through IDD Connects and
the IDD Information System
➢ Monitors service utilization and processing of state funds allocations and reviews reports from state funded
providers.
➢ Gathers, compiles and analyzes fiscal and service utilization data
➢ Researches and responds to internal and external inquiries concerning spending and utilization trends, program
issues, billing problems, rules and regulations
➢ Prepares reports of findings and analysis.
➢ Makes recommendations to Regional Field Office leadership and the Director of Field Operations for operational
changes
➢ Under supervision, performs complex administrative duties and statistical, financial, or operational data analysis
and reporting in support of management decision making in functional area.
➢ Identifies trends, discrepancies, and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations. May
partner with other departments, divisions, outside agencies, and vendors to address business issues.
➢ Exercises independent judgment based on policy and regulations. May administer or provide high level support
for various projects, grants, contracts, implementation of procedures, and/or any specialized functions.
➢ May be asked to assist in other regions
➢ Additional duties as assigned.
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to communicate and write clearly
Proficient with Microsoft WORD and EXCEL (excellent skills managing a database)
Experience working with IDDIS and/or IDD Connects
