As a Planning Manager, Emergency Preparedness within the Division of Health Protection, Office of Emergency Preparedness, at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as the lead planning subject matter expert for DPH internal and external partners.
- Supervise a team of planning professionals.
- Coordinate emergency planning activities for DPH internal partners relating to the State Emergency Operations Plan and all affiliated annexes/appendices.
- Interface with DPH Districts to support grant requirements relating to planning activities by developing and maintaining guidance and tools.
- Work with the Operational Readiness Manager and the Operations Manager to develop DPH specific exercises and trainings to validate emergency plans.
- Coordinate the development of state-wide multidisciplinary, or functional teams comprised of both state, district, and external partners for planning purposes.
- Ensure consistent engagement with internal and external partners to support plan development and maintenance.
- During disaster operations, conduct activities as the Planning Section Chief in the DPH Emergency Operations Center and as a Public Health Liaison at Georgia Emergency Management Agency/Homeland Security State Operations Center during an activation.
- Assist the Deputy Director/Director with maintaining the overall statewide planning capability.
- Assist in other planning and exercise development, as necessary.
