POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is assigned to the following county: TIFTON
THE SELECTED CANDIDATE MUST BE WILLING TO RELOCATE OR CURRENTLY LIVE.
The Marketing Specialist – Assessment Collection plays a key role in managing the collection, review, and reporting of agricultural commodity assessment data from farmers, producers, and agricultural businesses across the state.
1. This position works directly with producers to ensure accurate reporting of production and sales figures required for compliance with state marketing orders and funding programs.
2. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records
3. Providing technical assistance to producers
4. performing data analysis
5. Coordinating with internal staff and external stakeholders to ensure timely submission and accuracy of assessments.
6. Works under general supervision and may perform other duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the Minimum Qualifications, possess knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
1. Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial data management.
2. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software tools for data management and reporting.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial reporting requirements to producers.
5. Ability to build relationships and work effectively with farmers, producers, and agribusiness stakeholders.
6. Familiarity with agricultural production systems, marketing orders, or grant reporting processes is a plus.
