The Georgia Department of Education - Georgia School for the Blind is searching for a Maintenance/Groundskeeper. Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building trades work. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

Job Duties: 

Install and maintain security, climate control and other facilities systems

Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment

Diagnose and correct mechanical and structural problems

Ensures all maintenance conform to quality standards and designated timeliness

Install, maintain, evaluate and repair any component of the systems

Operates trade related tools and equipment

Maintains and assist an accurate inventory of all materials and equipment

Perform basic and skilled painting, carpentry, and roofing tasks

Performs general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment

Experience in maintaining grounds

Preferred qualifications:

Preference will be given to applicants who possesses the following:

• 2 yrs. minimum experience in general maintenance in building maintenance
• Experience in grounds maintenance
• High school diploma/GED
