Literacy Content Reviewer (Part-time)
Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education – Office of State Schools is recruiting a Literacy Content Reviewer. This role evaluates and revises learning content to align with literacy instruction best practices for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) and Blind Visual Impairment (BVI) learners, ensuring compliance with Georgia's legislation and educational standards.
Description of Duties
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Review literacy materials for DHH/BVI students to ensure accuracy, alignment with best practices, and compliance with relevant educational standards, providing revisions or recommendations as needed
- Create learner profiles for deaf and hard of hearing and blind or visually impaired students to guide differentiated literacy instruction
- Compile resources to support the development of literacy instruction
- Attend monthly review meetings to discuss content revisions, provide feedback, and document necessary changes
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
- Understanding of and experience working with the DHH or BVI community in literacy education
- In-depth knowledge of varying perspectives around language modality for young Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Flexibility in scheduling
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License
