Lanier Technical College is conducting a search for the following non-benefits eligible, FLSA exempt, part-time position.  NOTE:  A background check is part of the selection process. POSITION:    DESIGN MEDIA & PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR – Lanier College and Career Academy, Oakwood, GA. 

 

REPORTS TO:  Dean of Advanced Technology and Engineering

 

COMPENSATION: Dependent on qualifications/course contact hours

 

EFFECTIVE: Immediately

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under general supervision:

·         Develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives

·         Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited courses

·         Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives, submits midterm grade reports, final grade reports

·         Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate

·         Prepares and maintains all other required documentation and administrative reports

·         Completes ALL required institutional trainings

·         Ensures that safety and security requirements are met in the training area

 

This position will serve to support our Design Media & Production high school dual enrollment program at the Lanier College and Career Academy in Oakwood, GA.  Classes typically meet from 10:30am – 12:00pm Monday – Thursday. Courses may include:

·         Introduction to Design

·         Vector Graphics

·         Raster Imaging

·         Introduction to Media Production

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate’s degree in design media & production, or closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university, with appropriate coursework that demonstrates competencies in specific course content. Credentials must satisfy all appropriate accrediting agencies. Must have at least three years of related work experience.

 

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

·         Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and professional attire.

·         Ability to supervise students in the classroom.

·         Ability to develop and evaluate daily lesson plans.

·         Ability to direct and assess students’ progress in achieving required competencies.

·         Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud suite

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):

·         Bilingual (Spanish/English) language skills is a plus

·         More than three (3) years of related work experience

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
