POSITION: ADJUNCT SPANISH INSTRUCTOR – Different Campus Locations Available
REPORTS TO: General Education Program Chair
SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours
EFFECTIVE: Spring Semester (January 13th)
Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned:
· Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;
· Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;
· Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;
· Administers and grades class examinations;
· Maintains records of student grades;
· Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;
· Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;
· Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor;
Completes ALL required training assignments;
· Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.
A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours in Spanish. NOTE: Please include your unofficial transcript(s) with your application, or we will be unable to consider you further for this position.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):
Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level;
Experience with online teaching platforms
COMPETENCIES:
Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials
Knowledge of vocational area of assignment
Skill in presenting subject matter
Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress
Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs
Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
Oral and written communication skills
Knowledge of student information systems
This position is available at all Lanier Tech campuses; and day and evening classes available.
NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
