POSITION: ACCOUNTING INSTRUCTOR – Hall County Campus
REPORTS TO: Dean of Business, Public Safety and Professional Services
SALARY: Mid to upper $60’s, depending on education and experience
EFFECTIVE: August 1, 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, develops program and course outlines, goals and objectives; Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited accounting courses; Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives; Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests; Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate; Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area; Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students; Assists with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts. Work with Dean to coordinate adjunct instructors; Manages administrative responsibilities related to scheduling, developing syllabi and teaching courses. Other duties as assigned by Dean.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Accounting or closely related field (18 graduate semester hours in Accounting) from a regionally accredited college or university with appropriate coursework that demonstrates competencies in specific course content. Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting agencies. Must have three (3) years of relevant work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum):
A CPA license and/or other professional license related to accounting. Previous teaching experience, especially at the postsecondary level. Bilingual is a plus.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
· Ability to work flexible hours, and juggle multiple & competing priorities
· Ability to teach at any College campus where Accounting classes are taught
· Ability to participate in appropriate staff development and campus activities
· Ability to supervise students in the classroom
· Ability to develop and evaluate lesson plans, and select appropriate textbooks
· Ability to direct and assess students’ progress in achieving required competencies
· Ability to handle administrative responsibilities related to teaching of courses, data collection, and reporting for license agency, accreditation agencies, and the College
· Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, positive attitude and professional attire
