The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking detail-oriented applicants to fill multiple Labor Market Associate positions in Workforce Statistics Division at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA.
Essential Function and Responsibilities:
· Under broad supervision, performs complex administrative duties and statistical operation data analysis and reporting in support of management decision making in functional area. Duties may involve access to confidential information.
· May research, investigate and/or resolve program data or issues.
· Contacts employers to confirm or correct questionable data
· Identifies discrepancies and variances to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
· May provide support for various projects, grants, contracts, implementation of procedures and/or specialized function.
· May make recommendations to management for operational changes.
· Gather, complies and analyses data.
· Monitors effectiveness of business operations and assesses quality of service in assigned area.
· Establishes and maintains positive work relationship with area business community, internal and external agency customers, and other related contacts
· Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field from an accredited college or university
- College coursework in mathematics, economics, statistics and/or previous experience in the field
- Experience working with large database, Excel and Access
- General knowledge of querying in SQL or similar
- General knowledge of economic indicators and labor market information
- General experience with sample surveys and regression analysis
- General knowledge of industry codes/titles
