IT Specialist, YCA Ft. Stewart

The position of an IT Specialist includes working with the end-user and providing infrastructure support and maintenance. The IT Specialist answers to the Director/Deputy Director for the Youth Challenge Academy at Fort Stewart, GA. Applicant must have the ability to troubleshoot multifaceted problems in a systematic manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair and upgrade different types of computers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment
- Install, configure, and manage new computers and other IT equipment such as servers, switches, and access points.
- Install and configure Software for computers
- Install, configure, manage Windows servers, cisco switches, education smartboards, WIFI access points, firewalls, content filters, copiers, and academy specific software
- Familiar with MS 365 and Outlook products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Teams
- Support and maintain the academy IT network to including test connectivity, making and repairing network cables, and monitor network resources.
- Manage IT inventory
- Train users on MS 365 products.
- Manage and maintain audio-visual equipment for end users to support academy operations
- Coordinate with IT vendors or other IT support personnel for IT systems and network support to include video surveillance, telephone, physical security IDS and other IT systems as necessary.
Agency Entry Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED AND training and experience necessary to provide technical support to computer users in the organization.
Preferred qualifications:
- Two-year technical education in a related IT field
- A+, Network+, Security + Certifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Servers and Desktop and Cisco Switches.
Additional Information:
Selected applicant must pass a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a Georgia criminal records search, national fingerprint records search and a pre-employment drug test (post-hire will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program). In addition, a post-employment federal background investigation is also required.
