Summary/Objective: 

Under broad supervision, performs comprehensive clerical and support duties. Duties include Interacting with individuals with disabilities for the purposes of intake into the VR program, gathering information, working with LEA point of contact to obtain records, entering data, preparing correspondence, uploading obtained records, analyzing data, supporting children and youth enrollment in P2P programming, and providing accurate information for individuals with disabilities. 

 

Essential Functions:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

  1. Provides positive customer experience for individuals interested in applying for VR services and enrolling in P2P programming. 
  2. Provides positive customer experience when interacting with partnering LEAs. 
  3. Reviews case file information to determine if services are available for students using excel spreadsheets. 
  4. Maintaining a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times. 
  5. Interviews individuals with disabilities to obtain information and provides referral and application services. Uploads and documents support documentation and crucial client information. 
  6. Prepares and sends correspondence according to vocational rehabilitation policies and procedures. 
  7. Complies with the policies of the VR program in regards to case file requirements and established timelines for individuals.  
  8. Enters accurate participant data in the client information system and captures reporting data to support an open case. 
  9. Analyzes and reports data of P2P participant enrollment.  
  10. Collaborates with the P2P Family Liaison, P2P Project Manager, and other P2P Staff to support Bridging the Gap Youth enrollment in Bridging the Gap Camp.  
  11. Collaborates with local VR District personnel, LEAs, P2P Project Manager, and other GVRA Staff to ensure a seamless transition of services for P2P 8th grade youth transitioning to 9th grade. 
  12. Maintains communication with clients, providers, and team members. 
  13. Observes rules of confidentiality as stated by departmental guidelines in the dissemination and interpretation of test results and other case file information.

Preferred Education and Experience:  

Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess one or more of the following:

1. Associate degree in a Social Service or related field, or Certificate in Administrative or      Social Service or related field

2. 12 months experience working with people with disabilities

3. 12 months experience working with in a remote customer service call setting

4. 12 months experience working in a school setting in a student and/ or family services related position

5. 12 months experience working with data intake support

6. Certified Notary in the State of Georgia in good standing

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

None required for this position.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

 

Working Conditions:

Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Regular attendance is an important part of being successful in this position. Reasonable accommodations can be made available to qualified individuals upon request.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position occasionally requires long hours and weekend work.

 

Travel:

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience in a social services-related position; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Social Svcs Tech 2 (SST011) or position equivalent..
