The mission of the Department of Law is to serve the citizens of the State of Georgia by providing legal representation of the highest quality to the agencies, officers and employees of state government and by honorably and vigorously carrying out the constitutional and statutory responsibilities of the Attorney General. The position filled through this announcement will serve in the Human Resources section of our Operations Division.
Job Summary:
Performs administrative duties and human resource related processes. Provides customer service and support for our Human Resources office. This is a 100% on-site position
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative duties;
- Function as frontline customer point of contact for HR office
- Create employee files; i.e. new hire, temp staff, intern/externs
- Request/Cancel ID access badges and parking permits from GBA
- Assist with new hire orientation
- Transfer exiting employee files
- Order HR supplies
- Maintain HR electronic and physical files
Recruitment duties;
- Assist with maintenance of Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Assist with candidate assessment and processing
- Request GBI Backgrounds
Other duties as assigned to include but not limited to;
- Process HR transactions
- Assist with departing employee processing
- Run various HR and payroll reports as needed
- Process employee verifications and other employee requests
- Coordinate and distribute Faithful Service Awards, LDEA certificates
- Request flag and proclamation for employees retiring with 10+yrs of Law Department service name

Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in human resources; *OR* completion of a technical or vocational certificate program in related field from an accredited institution, *OR* an Associate’s degree in business or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in a human resources environment and experience working in human resources with the State of Georgia. Experience with Workday or similar HRIS software.
Additional Information:
A criminal background check is completed on all candidates; employment is also contingent upon the completion and satisfactory results of the background investigation. Candidates strongly considered for the position will also be required to submit a Department of Law employment application & waiver, Georgia Department of Revenue Tax Clearance letter and copies of official college transcripts.
