The Georgia Department of Revenue is seeking a strategic Human Resources Director to lead agency-wide HR operations and workforce transformation. This executive-level role is responsible for shaping workforce strategy, driving employee engagement, modernizing HR systems, and ensuring compliance with all applicable state and federal employment laws. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all core HR functions, including compensation, benefits, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary investigations
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and transparent application of HR policies, procedures, and practices in alignment with legal and ethical standards
  • Collaborate with executive and senior leadership to align HR strategies, policies, and programs with agency-wide goals and strategic objectives
  • Champion initiatives in change management, workforce engagement, and the development of a welcoming, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture
  • Leverage HR analytics to inform strategic decisions
  • Design, monitor, and communicate key workforce metrics
  • Mentor and support HR staff at all levels; serve as a trusted advisor to agency leadership on complex and high-impact HR matters
  • Build strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to advance innovative HR initiatives
  • Lead modernization of HR technologies, workforce solutions, and policy frameworks to support a future-ready department

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Ten years of progressively responsible experience in human resource management with five years of HR senior management experience in a comparably sized organization, OR ten years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management with five years of experience as an HR director in a smaller organization
  • Proven experience in strategic workforce planning, organizational development, and change management
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, HR systems, and data-driven decision-making
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent certification preferred
