Job Summary

The High School Coordinator supports dual enrollment program through the advisement, registration, and retention of dual enrollment students for courses/programs/pathways at West Georgia Technical College.

 

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

·         Advises and registers dual enrollment students including advising on courses to take toward major, pre-requisites, course sequences, types of classes (online vs. onsite), days and times of courses, and registers students for desired classes in Banner

(35%)

  • Regularly communicates with high school counselors regarding dual enrolled student scheduling, progress and grade information, WGTC programs and locations, admissions requirements, financial aid and Option B

(25%)

  • Recruits and attends parent nights and information sessions including parent nights, PROBE fairs, arena fairs, open houses etc. sharing information about dual enrollment admissions criteria, funding, course registration and program information

(10%)

  • Confirms and approves funding applications including reviewing number of funding hours for the current term and those remaining, confirms courses on funding application and correct, and follows up with student or counselor if incorrect information is on funding app

(15%)

  • Assists with admissions documents including admissions applications, Accuplacer scores or HOPE GPA letters, obtaining other missing documents, ensuring grade level and program are correct

(5%)

  • Tests potential dual enrollment students including creating vouchers for students testing, administering tests on a WGTC campus and/or a high school, reviewing test score information and inputting test scores into Banner.

(5%)

  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment and technologies.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, located on various campuses. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Thursday, 7:30am-6:00pm although a Monday through Friday schedule may be approved.  This position occasionally requires longer hours and some weekend work.

 

Travel

Travel to other campus locations and high schools is required, as needed. Some overnight travel may be required.

 

Required Education and Experience

·         Bachelor’s Degree *and* three (3) years of work-related experience

*NOTE: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

·         A Master’s degree in a related field

·         5+ years of experience in higher education

·         3+ years of recruitment or admissions experience

·         Previous Banner experience
