Position Summary: Under limited supervision, the HealthCare 3 Licensing Supervisor manages all aspects of the processing and evaluation of applications and registration for the Board of Nursing and the Board of Music Therapy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates applications to determine that all criteria have been met in accordance with Board laws, rules, and policies.
  • Provides a list of administratively licensed individuals for Board approval at each Board meeting.
  • Supervises licensing analysts.
  • Evaluates licensing analysts as to the quality and quantity of work performed.
  • Submits weekly licensing status report to the Executive Director.
  • Create goals with the Executive Director regarding processing applications, correspondence, and background checks.
  • Suggests needed changes to improve the effectiveness of the application process.
  • Revises licensure applications and applicant instructions as needed.
  • Reviews and seeks Board guidance (as necessary) regarding applicant reentry, preceptorship proposals, and international graduates’ education.
  • Ensures licensing analysts address call tickets within 24-48 hours.
  • Ensure licensing analysts notify applicants of deficient items within 7 working days of receiving the application.
  • Solicit feedback from licensing analysts to identify processing difficulties.
  • Communicate best practices to licensing staff.
  • Import transcript and exam information daily.
  • Work with other boards of nursing and the NLC Commission to refine and streamline processes to comply with eNLC statutes.
  • Work with other boards of nursing to implement best practices in Georgia.
  • Train and assign daily workload to temporary staff.
  • Prepares for GBI audits related to criminal background checks.
  • Works with IT and PLB staff on new data system, GOALS, rolling out in September 2025.
  • Communicates with APRN applicants regarding protocol agreements with Medical Board, DEA requirements, and practice in Georgia.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 2-3 years of nursing experience and 2-3 years of supervisory experience.

High school diploma/GED and six (6) years of job-related experience, which includes three (3) years in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level (RCT012) or position equivalent.
