As the Georgia HIV Behavioral Surveillance Project Coordinator within the Division of Epidemiology at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Note: This position requires someone who will work at an alternate location for field survey collection one half of the year and will be required to have access to transportation to field site locations around the metro Atlanta area.
- Provide overall project management and coordination for program operations.
- Oversee formative assessment activities and implement operational improvements as needed.
- Oversee recruitment planning, event scheduling, and maintenance of project supplies and equipment.
- Coordinate staff access, operational systems, and daily project reporting requirements.
- Oversee program monitoring, data management, reporting, and quality improvement activities.
- Coordinate HIV testing logistics, laboratory processes, and linkage-to-care procedures.
- Supervise and support project staff through hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Coordinate data analysis, dissemination, and development of local data collection procedures.
- Serve as the primary liaison with CDC and participate in project-related calls, trainings, and site visits.
- Assist with administrative and regulatory activities, including contracts, IRB functions, and cooperative agreement reporting.
- Provide backup support for field supervision and data management functions.
- Ensure compliance with HIV data security, confidentiality, testing, and incident reporting procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in HIV or STD surveillance activities.
- Knowledge and understanding of STDs/HIV/AIDS situations and trends, including social, economic, and gender challenges.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Teams).
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work with diverse populations.
- Ability to communicate ideas and information effectively, both orally and in writing.
