Job Description:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance, or construction of state buildings and related structures. Duties may include:

- Repairs and maintenance experience on dock boards, roll-up doors/sectional doors and welding is a priority. Experience with lighting, electrical services, air conditioning units, and plumbing fixtures is desirable.
- Inspects equipment and machinery for signs of malfunction by established procedures and takes appropriate steps to correct problems.
- Performs routine maintenance to ensure that machines and equipment operate smoothly and efficiently.
- Operates a variety of trade-related tools and equipment.
- Maintains/assists in an accurate inventory of all materials and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance, or construction of state buildings and related structures. Installs and maintains security, climate control, and other facilities systems.
· Operates plant equipment and building automation systems.
· Operates trade-related tools and equipment Technical Staff: Building and Construction Trades.
· Performs basic and skilled painting, carpentry, and roofing tasks.
· Performs general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.
· Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines operate smoothly, and efficiently, and physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
· Repairs and performs maintenance on plumbing fixtures, lighting, air vents, and air conditioning units and facilities.
· Wears safety equipment and observes all safety practices and regulations.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Working knowledge of Windows OS as well as Microsoft Excel, Access, and Word. High School diploma or GED and Two years of experience in building repairs and maintenance or One year of experience at lower-level General Trades Tech 1 or position equivalent. Experience in electrical, plumbing, and/or welding, etc. Forklift operation experience is a plus.
Physical Demands:
Will require spending time outside in the elements in all seasons. The employee will be required to be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Other Duties:
Maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.
