General Trades 3- Structures - 116th Warner Robins
The Georgia Department of Defense is seeking a General Trades Technician 3 (Structures division) to work at the 116th Air Wing in Warner Robins, Georgia. The General Trades Tech 3 must also be able to maintain a professional and positive demeanor.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Under broad supervision, performs a variety of semiskilled and skilled building trades work in the repair, maintenance of state buildings and related structures.
- Installs and maintains security and other facilities systems. Note: Position will require periodic 24 on-call availability.
- Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Serves as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
- Assembles, installs and/or repairs machinery, and equipment. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials and practices of basic and advanced facility maintenance as it pertains to structures career field.
- Understands procedures and methods to repair various roofing systems including metal slope and flat membrane.
- Interprets complex building plans, blueprints and engineering drawings to determine material, tools and equipment required for repair activities.
- Performs locksmith activities to include mortise locks and panic hardware.
- Prepares interior and exterior surfaces for repair and painting.
- Performs roofing inspections from elevated lift platforms to determine condition and repair requirements.
- Handles hazardous materials according to laws and regulations.
- Installs, maintains, evaluates and repairs any components of the systems.
- Operates trade related tools and equipment.
- Maintains/assists an accurate inventory of all materials and equipment.
- Performs basic and skilled painting, carpentry, and roofing tasks.
- Performs general maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.
- Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines operate smoothly, efficiently and physical condition ofbuildings does not deteriorate.
- Wears safety equipment and observes all safety practices and regulations.
Position requires a clean background check to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) in order to access computer programs, MS Office 365.
