FWS - Library Services (Lawrenceville)
This job is a Federal Work Study, non-benefited position in the library that reports to the Asst. Director for Lawrenceville. Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a federally funded program by the Department of Education. This program provides part-time jobs for undergraduate students with significant financial need and is administered by the FWS Coordinator, and the Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with the law, federal regulations, and with instructions from the United States Department of Education.
Salary: $13.50 per hour.
Hours: Days and Hours are flexible up to 19 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must be eligible for funds through the Federal Work Study Program for the current semester at Gwinnett Technical and be in good academic standing. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and be able to handle confidential information. Candidates must be available approximately 19 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications: must be able to provide helpful and friendly customer service at all times, must be able to file accurately, use computer programs and office machines, and use the telephone. Ability to handle multiple tasks; use proper judgment in directing questions to appropriate staff for assistance. Must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours and be able to handle confidential information.
Job Description Summary:
Under close supervision, provides clerical support and office assistance to Library. At the direction of assigned supervisor, provides information and assistance to internal and external customers.
