Job Summary: 
 Works in the preparation, cooking, serving and distribution of food to customers, clients and/or employees. Operates and maintains specialized food service equipment, and performs general facility and equipment sanitation maintenance in accordance with federal, state, and department guidelines. Serves as lead worker.
Job Description:
  • Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Cleans work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
  • Cleans, peels, slices and trims foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances.
  • Coordinates the daily work schedule of workers with the dining room manager.
  • Properly stores food by adhering to DBHDD food safety policies, procedures, and sanitation
  • Serves as a lead worker to assigned service workers.
  • Maintains positive attitude towards individuals (patients) co-workers, etc.
  • Trains workers in food preparation, and in service, sanitation, and safety procedures 
  • Performs other duties as assigned 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three(3) year of work experience as an assistant in preparing, cooking and serving food in a food service operation

*Additional Information - Selected applicant must meet the following standards: 

1.     Must pass a pre-employment background check (which includes criminal records check, driver's history, and verification of work history) and a post-hire federal background investigation.

2.     Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and will be placed in the pool for the State Random Drug Testing Program.

3.     Eligible to work in the U.S.

4.     Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. 

**High School and College Degrees Must Be From an Accredited Institution** 

High school diploma/GED and one (1) year of experience in the area of assignment; or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Food Svc Worker 2 (FFS011) or position equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
