Financial Analyst - Premium Tax
Under supervision, the Financial Analyst confirms the integrity of tax returns while ensuring compliance with state laws and regulations by interpreting laws and policies, auditing records, transactions, and financial data.
Compiles and documents background information, prepares analyses, correspondence, and calculates obligations, penalties, or monies owed.
Completes routine audits of admitted and non-admitted insurance companies.
Prepares and maintains databases, evidence, files, and confidential documents.
Prepares and assists in the preparation of reports (ie case reports, audit findings, asset utilization, recommended changes in operations or financial activities).
Research financial histories, previous payments, and prior audit findings.
Reviews and examines financial-related records to detect fraud and noncompliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
Conducts audits of tax documents and determines the scope of investigation required.
Performs other duties assigned.
