Financial Analyst 2
Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education - Finance and Business Operations is recruiting for an experienced Financial Analyst II. Under limited supervision and according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the incumbent will perform professional financial duties, record financial transactions, prepare various reports, and provide information to auditors and other third parties. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare federal reporting requirements for the agency which includes Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act (FFATA)
- Assist with indirect costs calculations
- Interact with agency administrators and staff, professional, accountants, and auditors
- Perform operational analyses (reconciliations) of various systems and to ensure verify accuracy of data to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Identify improvements in the methods for recording
- Maintain and report financial transactions
- Monitor and manage day to day activities in OpenGov and Permitting and Licensing
- Manage and complete other projects and assignments as requested by management
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related area
- Experience in governmental accounting, preferably with a state agency or school district
- Experience utilizing TeamWorks or Workday software
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills
