Job Description:
This position develops, oversees, and evaluates a variety of administrative tasks including budget, performance, disciplinary actions, and secures and protects the facility in case of fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events. Supervises and plans the work of assigned staff.
Job Responsibilities & Performance Standards:
- Supervises and plans work of assigned staff
- Answers alarms and investigates disturbances
- Coordinates operational plans with other law enforcement agencies
- Develops and presents educational in-house programs
- Develops security staffing, shift and contingency plans for the facility
- Escorts or drives a motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations and to provide personal protection
- Monitors and authorizes entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against and maintain the security of premises
- Oversees inspections of assigned area for fire or environmental hazards
- Responds to fires, natural disasters, or other hazardous events
- Supervises safety personnel in a unit or facility
- Warns persons of rule infractions or violations, and apprehends or evicts violators from premises, using force if necessary
- Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities
- Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster information security awareness within the organization
- Participates in the development and execution of security education programs
- Oversees daily security activities and enforce government and company security policies
- Performs access control responsibilities including managing badges, access cards, and visit requests, as required.

High School Diploma and three years’ experience with at least one year of supervisory experience in the safety/security field, experience with mentally ill individuals, knowledge of National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) Life Safety Codes, and Joint Commission requirements for Safety and Emergency Management. Valid Driver’s License from the state in which the candidate resides and clear MVR record.
