Executive Director of Secondary Initiatives
The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is currently seeking highly qualified applicants to be considered for their full-time Executive Director of Secondary Initiatives position within the Office of Student Affairs/Secondary Initiatives. This on-site position is located at TCSG System Office, which is located in Atlanta at 1800 Century Place, Atlanta, GA 30345.
The Executive Director is responsible for the achievement of services, goals and objectives and acts as liaison with all divisions to ensure day-to-day operations are managed appropriately. In addition, the position manages the annual administration of the Georgia College and Career Academy Grant program (GCCAP) and acts as the lead for all CCA-support activities across the state that are delivered via the Georgia College and Career Academy Network (GCCAN).
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervises all departments of Secondary Initiatives including: Dual Enrollment, Office of College and Career Academies, and High School Diploma programs;
• Manages and oversees financial/budget operations of the department;
• Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and departmental procedures;
• Develops and/or assists with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program;
• Maintains knowledge of assigned program area and gives updates to management on services, operations, and projects
• Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information;
• Conducts regular evaluation of services provided and makes adjustments as needed;
• Maintains up-to-date policies and procedures based on state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives;
• Serves as leader in coordinating project activities;
• Acts as program liaison with all divisions, coordinates, plans, implements, monitors and complete program initiatives and projects to ensure day-to-day operations are handled appropriately;
• Develops and maintains a working relationship with internal and external contacts to promote the colleges, career academic affiliates and TCSG. This may include training/enrichment opportunities based on their individual needs;
• Promotes programs to public and private organizations.
• Serves as representative of TCSG or technical college in various internal and external meetings;
• Represents president or assistant commissioner in meetings or conference
• Plans, organizes and manages special projects.
• Manage the annual Georgia College and Career Academy Program (GCCAP) grant, and coordinates annual grant updates, the grant rollout, and the overall award processes;
• Engage with the GCCA Executive Committee in the development and facilitation of quarterly peer group meetings;
• Manage part-time personnel and consultants in work relative to GCCA board training, community development projects, and other GCCA Network efforts;
• Provide oversight for the GCCA Certification accountability review process in partnership with the GaDOE Charter Schools and District Flexibility Division;
• Collaborate with TCSG Marketing Division to ensure GCCA website informational material remains current;
• Establish and maintain relationships with key industry and workforce development affiliates;
• Train new employees and provide staff development for current College & Career Academy CEOs in related areas of job function;
• Monitor legislation related to CCAs, dual enrollment, workforce development;
• Assess training/development needs of College & Career Academy CEOs;
• Facilitate and lead teams, peer groups, and task forces in the completion of projects;
• Create and maintain an up-to-date process and records retention for Academy Certifications;
• Provide state wide marketing of programs to all educational institutions, businesses and industries and stakeholders;
• Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in related fields;
• Complete site visits at the College & Career Academies;
• Coordinate and assess the collection of program data;
• Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree *and* Five (5) years of work related experience.
