Entry-Level Logistics & Property Accountant Specialist
Savannah Technical College is seeking a motivated Entry-Level Logistics Property & Accountant Specialist to assist in the tracking and management of the college's fixed assets and property records. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in property accounting, asset management, and financial reporting within a supportive, learning-focused environment.
The Property Accountant Specialist will work closely with the Finance and Logistics teams to ensure accurate asset tracking, reporting, and compliance with state regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain property and fixed asset records, ensuring proper identification and tracking;
- Reconcile monthly capital assets and update asset depreciation schedules;
- Support the coordination of annual physical inventory and asset audits;
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations regarding asset management;
- Assist in processing property transfers and disposals per established procedures;
- Work collaboratively with finance, operations, and procurement teams to ensure asset accuracy;
- Perform additional tasks related to logistics and accounting as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate’s degree *and* Three (3) years of work-related experience
- Note: Experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the following computer programs/applications: Peoplesoft Financials, Asset Works, and WorkDay
- Experience working within the Technical College System of Georgia or other State Agency
- Ability to operate a fork-lift
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift/move objects weighing 25lbs or more; ability to work in various environmental conditions; ability to drive a fork lift; ability to operate a hand truck; ability to operate a golf cart. This position will work both in the field and in an office environment.
Salary/Benefits:
Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
