DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of the Associate Dean of General Education and Business, performs all aspects of instruction for academic English courses. The English Instructor position will be required to provide instruction on multiple campuses. Employment is with North Georgia Technical College and not with an individual campus. All employees are subject to work relocation based on college needs.
MAJOR DUTIES:
• Develops course syllabi, goals, and objectives
• Prepares lesson plans for classroom instruction for credited technical/occupational courses
• Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives
• Requests and maintains supplies and equipment and prepares required budget requests
• Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate
• Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports
• Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area
• Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students
· Serves on college committees, participates in community service activities, and/or participates in college initiatives
· Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts
· Assists academic support services, including advisement and tutoring
· Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences
• Other duties as assigned
