EMS Full-Time Instructor
Job Summary
Duties include curriculum design and development; instruction, recruitment, and advisement of students. Correlation of clinical education with didactic education using approved curriculum format; evaluation of students in the academic/ clinical/field setting and periodic review and revision of clinical/didactic course materials and manuals. Courses will be a combination of face to face, online or hybrid as necessary. Duties also include participation in college committees and participation in professional enhancement. Evaluates students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students' instructional programs and other issues.

Instruction · Provides instruction in theory and practical applications of the discipline in accordance with academic state standards. · Instructs courses in a classroom/lab/clinic/field environment that closely simulates the environment of the industry. · Utilizes current technology in the classroom/lab/clinic. · Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. · Grades all coursework in a timely manner. · Provides student support and advising. · Maintains office hours weekly. · Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the discipline area Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues. · Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate for the teaching discipline. · Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. · Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the discipline. · Attends professional development training, workshops, seminars and conferences. |
Curriculum/Student Learning Outcomes/Accreditation (when applicable) · Develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals and objectives. · Prepares lesson plans for instruction. · Works collaboratively with faculty within discipline to establish, measure and evaluate program or departmental student learning outcomes for continuous student improvement and success and submits to appropriate program chair/director. · Submits reports and data with respect to accrediting bodies. · Reviews and edits master course shells in the online learning platform as necessary. · Participates in faculty calibration exercises and mentoring of faculty. · Attends faculty meetings as scheduled. · Completes required bloodborne pathogens, medical emergency, and teaching methodology as requested annually. |
Supports Program Chair/Program Director/Division Deans/Associate Deans · Requests and maintains supplies and equipment. · Assists Program Director with budget preparation budget requests. · Assists with recruitment, retention and job placement efforts. · Serves on department and collegiate committees and project assignments as necessary. |

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional environment. This role routinely uses laboratory equipment and specimens, standard office equipment, and technologies related to the instructional environment.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time instructional position. Work load is Monday-Friday day/evening hours. Weekends based on need.
Travel
Travel to other campuses is a possibility for teaching assignments, meetings, training, and professional development.
Required Education and Experience
· A diploma in Health-related Field from an accredited post-secondary institution or an equivalent military medical hospital based or company sponsored training program.
· National Registry Advance Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic license
· Georgia EMS Instructor Advanced or Paramedic license, CPR Certification
· Valid Driver’s License
· Faculty/instructional staff must be effective in teaching and knowledgeable in subject matter as documented by appropriate professional credential(s). education, and experience in the designated content area.
· Knowledge about EMS Programs evaluation of student learning and performance
Preferred Education and Experience
· Teaching experience at the Post-secondary level
· Knowledge of Blackboard LMS or other online LMS
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
