Employment Specialist
- Carries out the services of the IPS Supported Employment program by assisting clients to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals.
- Manages a caseload of 20 clients and works on a team of 4 Employment Specialists and 1 Team Lead.
- Engages clients and establishes trusting, collaborative relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in community job settings.
- Serves clients throughout the region, including Henry, Spalding, Upson, Fayette, Lamar, and Butts Counties.
- Spends 65% or more of scheduled work hours in the community, for example, meeting clients at their homes, workplaces, coffee shops, libraries, etc., helping clients follow up on job applications, and/or conducting employer contacts to learn about open positions and the needs of the business.
- Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with local employers to develop opportunities for clients.
- Assesses clients' vocational skills and preferences on an ongoing basis utilizing background information and work experiences.
- Provides professional skill development, such as but not limited to resume support, interviewing skills, and professional communication.
- Participates in weekly meetings with mental health treatment team and communicates individually with team members between meetings in order to coordinate and integrate vocational services with mental health treatment.
High school diploma/GED and two (2) years of job-related experience.
