POSITION SUMMARY:

Under direction of the Deputy Director of Information Technology for Voting Systems, this position provides operational and training support to all Georgia county election offices as a member of the Information Technology Voting Systems team.  Position responsible for coordination of election equipment testing, coordination of county-level system support, coordination of county-level election systems training, and assisting in-house ballot building operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Professional interaction with county election office supervisors and staff, county election board members, county commission members, and county attorneys on a nearly daily basis.
  • Communicates project status and progress of work product for review and briefing.
  • Training Class Development and Coordination.
  • Assist Ballot Building Operations.
  • Design and execute long and short-term projects.
  • Installs, analyzes and troubleshoots as necessary desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, monitors, peripherals, network, servers, phones, and switches.
  • Maintains current inventory of all state-owned voting system equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Support the roll out of Elections related initiatives.
  • Shows persistence and seeks alternatives when obstacles arise; seeks alternative solutions; identifies and involves appropriate internal or external expertise when appropriate; works proactively, addressing things before being forced to by events; accommodates new methods and procedures.
  • Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriately.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with users and peers.
  • Server Support and On-site Equipment Testing - Develop and lead an array of short and long- term project.

SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS:  None

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college or university, or completion of some post-secondary course work.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree from a nationally accredited college or university in Education, Information Technology or Political Science

Knowledge and familiarity with the state’s voting system and election processes.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of desktops, laptops and mobile devices, as well as network equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • Demonstrated problem resolution and task management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Some travel required.
High school diploma/GED and three (3) years of related experience. Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
