This job is a part time, non-benefited position in the Computer Science Division that reports to the Program Director – Web Design

Salary – $15.60 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications (Job Code H1001):
Highs School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications: 

Some technical college courses preferred (CIST 1001 – Computer Concepts, CIST 1510 – HTML & CSS, CIST 1520 - JavaScript, CIST 1530 – Web Graphics/Adobe Creative Cloud). Basic understanding of PHP. Excellent customer service and communication skills required and should be able to troubleshoot operating system, hardware, software, Microsoft Office 2013/2016 applications, cd/DVD burning, and printer issues. Ability to be flexible in working conditions, schedules, and be able to lift 15 to 30 lbs. Open to training and skills development. We also require the following skills: attention to detail, ability to multitask, stay on top of deadlines, fast learner, training skills, reporting/documenting capabilities, and excellent people skills.

Experience/ certification or pursuing certification in Web design/ Development, Game Design/Development, Microsoft Office 2013/2016, Web, Browsers, and any other computer certification is a plus.  Preference will be given to applicants who are current students at Gwinnett Technical College in the Computer Science Division and specifically in the Web Design Program. 

Certain positions are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. Refusal to take the test or a positive result will lead to separation and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment. Additionally, for any employment offer that includes a required drug test, the test must be completed within 48 hours. Failure to comply will result in the offer being rescinded and a 2-year ineligibility period for state employment

Job Description Summary:
Under general supervision, assists the student computer user at Gwinnett Technical College.

Duties/Responsibilities

Performs basic administrative/clerical tasks to support the daily operation of the computer lab

  • Provides oral and written reports as required
  • Establishes and maintains records/files relating to the program's mission (daily sign in logs, if necessary).

  • Maintains a positive, warm attitude that encourages the student(s) to learn

Operates computers, copiers, and other office equipment; performs routine user preventive maintenance on office equipment. Initiates, composes and accurately types correspondence and administrative documents according to established guideline
