Education Program Specialist
Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) - Federal Programs is recruiting for a Program Specialist for the Instruction and System Improvement Unit in the Division for Exceptional Children. This position provides programmatic support for Specially Designed Instruction and professional learning for state-supported instructional programs. This position will also collaborate across divisions within the state educational agency (SEA). Duties include but are not limited to:
Job Duties
- Provide direct support with systemic improvement efforts and all instructional related initiatives
- Serve as a key collaborator with stakeholders to develop and implement statewide efforts to support instruction for students with disabilities at the state, regional, and local levels
- Make recommendations for changes and improvements based on research and evaluation data
- Communicate program design/deliverables, plan implementation and impact
- Design and conduct professional learning projects, provide specialized support to LEAs, develop reports, and presentation materials
Experience in PK-12 special education
Experience in school psychology, speech language pathology, preschool special education, and other special education certification areas
Specially designed instruction and systemic improvement
School, local district, or state level in supervising for compliance with federal and state rules and regulations
Excellent presentation skills
Hold a Georgia professional educator certification in special education
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Experience with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)
