Dorm Supervisor
Summary/Objective:
Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff with providing education and/or training to clients on the Roosevelt Warm Springs (RWS) campus. Prepares instructional materials and maintains order and cleanliness in the residential dorms. Plans and conducts team activities. Monitors and supervises various classroom functions.
Essential Functions:

1. Supervises, instructs, monitors, and documents Residential Advisor activities
2. Counsels and advises clients and families about campus programs and residential policies, expectations, and GVRA policies and requirements.
3. Assist the Campus Life Manager with executing educational events, community building, and social activities
4. Participate in appropriate recruitment and enrollment activities including: open houses, local presentations, training sessions, orientation programs, career days, graduation, and etc.
5. Oversee peer accountability for the Code of Student Responsibility
6. Provide crisis response and crisis management
7. Assist with opening and closing assigned residence hall each semester
8. Participate in on-call duty rotation (including weekends and some break periods) in assigned residential area
9. Assist students with personal, academic, and transition concerns
10. Encourage a cooperative and considerate living environment
11. Help resolve roommate or group conflicts that may arise
12. Respond to staff needs regarding resident and facilities concerns, including emergencies
13. Develop and attend departmental functions, Residential Advisor training sessions, special events, and weekly meetings
14. Reviews and ensures process is followed for duty and incident reports as required
15. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
16. Supervise assigned personnel, conduct annual performance appraisals and make recommendations for appropriate employee action.
17. Evaluate the effectiveness of the department and make recommendations or revisions as necessary.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the required education and experience, possess two (2) years’ experience in the development and implementation of residential processes maximizing use of technology to streamline processes and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This position supervises and plans the work of assigned staff.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions:
Incumbents working in this job perform duties in an office setting. This is a 40-hour workweek requirement. The position may involve managing a high-volume workload and demands a high level of accuracy while working with deadlines. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Thursday through Monday, 10:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. This position occasionally requires weekday work when students are not on campus.
Travel:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
