GDOL's Admin Policy 100-X will be used to determine the final salary.
The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking qualified applicants to be considered for a DOL Services Specialist Advance position in the Brunswick Career Center in Brunswick, GA.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Conducts proper interviewing techniques with claimants and employers to obtain the information needed to release timely determinations and enter non-monetary entries in the system, and resolve claims issues.
Communicates law and procedures clearly, correctly, and understandably to employers.
Identifies, documents and resolves separation and availability issues.
Performs job counseling with applicants to identify their abilities, needs, interests, and values in relation to job and career opportunities.
Conducts Benefit Eligibility Reviews (BERs) and processes claims that are consistent with the department’s Unemployment Insurance policies/mission.
Demonstrates a comprehensive overall understanding of state law and departmental procedure for the dissemination of information as related to the UI program.
Accurately answers claimants' questions relative to program eligibility and explains the appeal process.
Assists customers in-person and/or by phone with unemployment related issues and questions.
Conducts hearings in a professional and courteous manner.
Submits all claims related documents to imaging system.
Serves a lead worker.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of DOL rules/regulations
Experience providing reemployment or training services under federally funded programs.
Minimum one (1) year customer service experience
