MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field *and* Three (3) years of work-related experience

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

· Assigns, plans, and directs Career Placement and Advisement which includes Assessment activities to ensure maximum operational efficiency on a continuous basis according to established procedures;

· Manages and oversees financial/budget operations of the department;

· Exercises fiscal prudence by monitoring expenditures and revenues on a continuing basis to ensure revenues are earned and expenses are not overspent;

· Reviews and approves expense accounts, leave requests, travel requests, etc. to ensure conformity with established policies and procedures;

· Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with TCSG policy manual and department procedures;

· Administers the implementation and management of the TEAMS system and supervises the college’s Navigator. The Navigator’s primary responsibility is the management of TEAMS and it’s requisite reporting;

· Supervises the day to day work of the Graduation Coach to include the development of goals and strategies for improving the retention of academically at-risk students;

· Prepares reports in requested format within requested time frame;

· Develops and/or assists with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program;

· Works with management and staff to determine strategic positioning and to eliminate duplication of processes;

· Maintains knowledge of assigned program area and gives updates to management on services, operations, and projects;

· Defines and sets goals based on strategic direction of the technical college and customer needs;

· Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information;

· Participates in meetings to ensure department goals are in line with the technical college goals;

· Conducts regular evaluations of services provided and makes adjustments as needed;

· Maintains up-to-date with policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives;

· Maintains excellent working relationships with and serves as a liaison to internal and external customers; and

· Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

COMPETENCIES:

 

Knowledge of Banner, KMS (Knowledge Management Systems); Skill in the use of computers and job related software programs Knowledge of current policies, laws, trends and developments in the field; Ability to translate technical data into information that can be used in a variety of settings and populations; Leadership skills; Oral and written communication skills;

Skill in interpersonal relations an in dealing with the public.

 

SALARY:

 

Salary commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.

 

SPECIAL NOTES:

It shall be a condition of employment to submit to a background investigation. Offers of employment shall be conditional pending the result of the background investigation.

Baccalaureate Degree from regionally accredited college or university in closely related field *and* Three (3) years of experience in a post-secondary institution.
