Design and Media Production Technology Adjunct Faculty

This position requires teaching responsibilities for credit courses within the Digital Media department within the division of Industrial Technologies and Professional Services. Instruction will include both lecture and laboratory activities through face-to-face, hybrid, and internet classes. The instructor will report to the Dean of the School of Industrial Technologies and Legal Studies.
The instructor must possess the ability to:
- Teach all phases of the Residential Building Design Technology curriculum
- Additional duties include developing instructional materials
- Evaluating students’ progress in achieving instructional goals and objectives
- Provide professional instruction based on approved course syllabus
- Prepare curriculum for coursework taught
- Deliver training by lecture, hands on, computer multi-media, online and text
Minimum Qualifications:
Five years of work experience and an Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Design and Media Production or a related field. Appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of the College’s accrediting agency.
Ten years of full-time work experience in graphic design, and computer design and prepress.
Current skills should include a strong understanding of the basic principles of good design, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university in Design and Media, or a related field. Appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of the College’s accrediting agency. Five or more years, within the last ten years of full-time work experience in computer design and prepress, and graphic design. Experience teaching media and design production at the college level. Experience working with current digital media technology. Ability to deliver a curriculum which addresses digital media industry skills needed for employment or advanced training. Experience working with digital media software applications including but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Blackboard and Banner web is desirable.
