Preferred Qualifications: Must be able to successfully pass a thorough background and polygraph investigation in compliance with GDC policy. Must be able to successfully complete Basic GDC and GBI Training Academy. Possess sound judgement and decision-making qualities. Demonstrated solid computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to use proper and effective interview and interrogation techniques. Ability to conduct surveillance, use covert devices and interview informants. Possess a knowledge of legal procedures and processes as well as knowledge of law enforcement databases and other available sources of information. Ability to prepare reports that detail investigation findings. Possess tactical skills, conducting homicide, gang narcotics and financial investigations. Extensive statewide travel and regional travel required.

 

This position will be a Field Agent Position located in the Southwest Region Criminal Investigations Division.

Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and must meet the prerequisites and complete the Basic Law Enforcement Training Program certification; or two (2) years of experience in law enforcement or related field and Georgia P.O.S.T. certification. Note: Some positions may require the incumbent to have a valid Class C driver's license.
