View Point Health provides support to families whose youth ages 6-21 (to include transition age youth and young adults, ages 14-26) have complex mental health needs where Certified Peer Specialist (CPS) support might offer support in: Assisting youth, young adults and families in gaining skills to promote their recovery journey (self-advocacy, problem solving, goal setting, coping skills, etc.); providing crisis support; supporting individuals in community meetings; assisting in understanding various system processes and how these relate to the recovery process; helping identify natural supports; helping access supports which maintain youth and young adults in the least restrictive setting possible; supporting families in identifying and accessing basic and other family resource needs; helping youth, young adults and families envision and achieve a meaningful and purposeful life by identifying and building on their strengths and addressing their concerns, needs and opportunities; encouraging the importance of self-care; addressing the need to maintain whole health and wellness; and drawing upon their own experience to help the youth, young adults and families find and maintain hope as a tool for progress towards recovery.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma/GED and three (3) years of job-related experience in a social services-related position; or One (1) year of experience at the lower-level Social Services Tech 2 (SST011) or equivalent position.

Note: Must be a parent or legal guardian (in a permanent relationship for at least 3 years) of a child who is living with a mental health, substance use or a co-occurring diagnosis who provides support to other parents who are raising a child with similar behavioral health conditions

Note: Must be at least 21 years of age and have valid Georgia driver’s license and Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with company policy.

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Ability to read, write, and speak fluently in English and Spanish.

  • Knowledge of youth, young adults, and adult provider network in Georgia Dept. of Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) Region 3

  • Knowledge of agencies serving underserved populations

  • Experience with SAMHSA NOMS interview process and reporting mechanism 

  • Experience with CareLogic reporting.
