Our Certified Peer Specialist in the Mental Health Treatment Mall provides invaluable support, advocacy, and skill building to adult individuals in their personal recovery. Using their lived experience, the CPS is able to connect with individuals and promote hope, personal responsibility, empowerment, education, and self-determination.
General Job Duties:
1. Using the 10-step goal setting process, the CPS will support individuals in articulation personal goals and objectives for recovery and wellness.
2. Utilizing their specific training, the CPS will:
a. Lead and teach individuals how to facilitate recovery Dialogues.
b. Support individuals in creating WRAP.
c. Will provide one to one support for individuals in building social skills and overcoming fears.
3. Attends recovery team meetings as scheduled to promote individual's use of self -directed recovery tools. Will be respectful of the opinions of all team members and work WITH the clinical staff in providing the appropriate care for the individuals.

5. Using their unique recovery experience, the CPS will teach, and role model the value of every individual's recovery experience. Will model effective coping techniques and self-help strategies.
6. Conducts assigned groups in the forensic treatment mall to assist individuals in their recovery in various topics.
7. Will document progress towards goals in the electronic medial record per hospital procedure.
8. CPS will maintain a working knowledge of current trends and developments in the mental health field by reading books, journals, and other relevant material. Will attend continuing education sessions when offered and as approved by the facility. Will attend all hospital Inservice training as required per hospital policy.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Must be a Georgia-Certified Peer Specialist
2. High school diploma or higher
