This job is a part-time, non-benefited, FLSA Exempt position in the Technology and Operation Division that reports to the Sergeant at Gwinnett Technical College. This position’s primary location will be the Alpharetta North Fulton Campus. This role involves safety-sensitive responsibilities and requires pre-employment drug testing, fingerprint and regular background checks, psychological evaluations, deception tests, and reference checks as part of the employment condition. In addition, due to the high-risk nature, once hired, the position is also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience not to exceed the budgeted amount of $31.20/hr.
Scheduled Hours: Varied shifts, Monday – Thursday 6:30 am – 10:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Minimum Qualifications (Job Code T1701)
High School or GED. *and* GA P.O.S.T Law enforcement certification is required
Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the minimum qualifications, Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment. Five (5) years of police law enforcement experience. Campus law enforcement experience.
Job Description Summary:
The Campus Police Officer performs a full range of assigned law enforcement duties to maintain security and
order on a technical college campus. Qualified applicants who are invited to interview will be asked to complete a TCSG Pre-Employment Questionnaire before completing the interview portion of the selection process. If offered the position, following the delivery of a written conditional offer of employment, the selected candidate must participate in/successfully complete the following post-offer screening activities: criminal history records check, medical examination, drug screening, psychological evaluation, deception test, and a motor vehicle records check.
