Description: Under general supervision, provides instruction to students in the Automotive Technology Program. The program is designed to prepare participants for entry-level Automotive positions in the automotive industry. The instructor will work primarily in classroom and indoor shop areas requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance and operation of the automotive equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies. The instructor must demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; knowledge of current in-field procedures; and follow approved course syllabus. The instructor will evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives within the program, complete all reports and records in a timely manner and maintain accurate inventory of all assigned properties. The position may involve teaching traditional day and/or evening classes or online classes. Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) to four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50 lbs. The work is performed in campus buildings and outdoors where the employee is occasionally exposed to cold or inclement weather. The exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in the lab environment.

Minimum Qualifications

         Associate degree in Automotive Technology or closely related field

         Current ASE certification

         General knowledge appropriate to the Automotive Technology program and related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications, in addition to minimum qualifications:

         Experience developing and teaching lessons individually and in classroom environments.

         Knowledge of online instruction and gradebooks

The program is designed to prepare participants for entry-level Automotive Collision Repair positions in the automotive industry. The instructor will work primarily in classroom and indoor shop areas requiring close attention to detailed procedures in the preparation and basic maintenance and operation of the automotive equipment, inventory and requisition of supplies. The instructor must demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques; use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books, and any other record-keeping required; effective use of oral and written communication skills; knowledge of current in-field procedures; and follow approved course syllabus. The instructor will evaluate student progress in attaining goals and objectives within the program, complete all reports and records in a timely manner and maintain accurate inventory of all assigned properties.

Applicants must be motivated, organized, and able to work collegially in a professional environment. The selected candidate must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking. The selected candidate must also withstand a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with possible exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in a lab environment. You must be able to work with minimum supervision, effectively use oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.


Minimum Qualifications:

         Diploma in Auto Collision Repair or related field

         Current ASE Certification

         Related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

         Experience developing and teaching lessons individually and in classroom environments.

         Knowledge of online instruction and gradebooks

         More than five years related work experience

Associate Science Nursing (ASN) Clinical Adjunct Part Time

 

Applications will be reviewed on an as needed basis. We are currently seeking ASN clinical adjunct Instructors for our Clarkesville and Blairsville campuses.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supervising and educating students at clinical sites using a variety of learning experiences and activities. Instructional duties include facilitating clinical learning experiences, assisting with assessment and evaluation of students’ achievement of clinical learning outcomes, promoting a safe learning environment for a diverse student body in accordance with the established course syllabi, and utilizing a variety of teaching methods in instruction. Other responsibilities include providing students with appropriate course materials (syllabus, calendar, policy statements or guidelines), utilizing technology to include a simulated electronic health record system, adhering to course competencies in the preparation and delivery of quality instruction, and efficient maintenance of student records. Instructor must be knowledgeable of institutional policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

● BSN degree from a regionally accredited institution

● Three (3) years' work experience as a nurse within the past five (5) years

● Current Georgia Nursing License in good standing

 

Preferred Qualifications

● Teaching experience in an Associate degree nursing program.

● Teaching experience in an accredited nursing program.

● Experience using simulation equipment for nursing education.
