Attorney

Under general supervision, the Attorney provides analysis and/or recommendations on legal issues within the scope and authority of the agency.

Acts as a resource to answer questions and evaluates the status of reimbursements or recoupments. 

Coordinates and implements due process procedures and procedures for appeals.

Develops, oversees, and implements administrative processes designed to maintain and monitor the legal compliance of department processes.

Drafts amendments to existing contracts and standardized letters and notices related to administrative legal procedures.

Identifies and resolves, or assists in the resolution of, legal problems.

Implements administrative processes designed to maintain and monitor the legal compliance of departmental processes and activities.

Participates in the preparation and coordination of cases prior to and during court trials and administrative hearings. 

Provides analysis, answers, or recommendations regarding legal, liability and/or risk-management issues. 

Provides legal services such as writing articles and drafting new or amended legislation or regulations.

Provides research and analysis of legal, policy and issues. 

Reviews investigative reports and identifies areas that require further investigation.

Performs other duties as assigned.
