Macon Judicial Circuit – Assistant Public Defender IV
The Macon Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender IV. Under broad supervision, the Assistant Public Defender IV is responsible for the administration and direction of support staff and licensed attorneys engaged in the defense of felony jury or non-jury cases handled by the Circuit Public Defender Office. The position advises and counsels other attorneys as to the case management practices of handling their assigned cases, as well as demonstrates a mastery of litigation and possesses extensive and significant jury trial experience as the lead counsel in felony cases.

Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender IV will be responsible for providing competent and zealous legal representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position is performed as an expert attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony cases, as well as represent clients in cases including the most serious, complex legal cases assigned to the office. Performs other related duties as assigned.
