Southwestern Judicial Circuit – Assistant Public Defender I or II
The Southwestern Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender I or II. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for the position. The Assistant Public Defender I or II will be assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony and appellate cases, as well as all other criminal matters in the Superior Court of the Southwestern Circuit. In addition, the applicant must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia. Students eligible to sit for the next Georgia Bar Exam, up several years of practice experience should apply.

Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender I or II will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position performs beginning to mid-level professional legal work and may assist in cases of routine complexity. To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university and a license to practice law in the State of Georgia. Performs other related duties as required.
