Description:
Applicants must be able to provide instruction in Air Conditioning Technology courses and organize or conduct classes using a variety of learning experiences and activities to include lecture and lab. You must be experienced with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Word. The ability to work with students to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, install, service, and maintain the operating condition of heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems is required. This position includes instruction in diagnostic techniques, the use of testing equipment and the principles of mechanics, electricity, and electronics as they relate to the repair of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Applicants must be motivated, organized, and able to work collegially in a professional environment. The selected candidate must be able to perform physical activities, such as but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing, pushing, pulling, and walking. The selected candidate must also withstand a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions with possible exposure to dirt, dust, grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in a lab environment. You must be able to work with minimum supervision, effectively use oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate knowledge of current in-field procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate’s Degree in Air Conditioning Technology -OR- Associate’s Degree in any field and diploma in Air Conditioning Technology.
· Five years related work experience
· Hold a valid EPA 608 Certification
Preferred Qualifications:
· Associate’s Degree in Air Conditioning Technology
· More than five years related work experience
· Familiar with Wi-Fi systems and variable speed drive systems.
· Refrigeration experience.
· Previous teaching experience
Salary/Benefits: Pay based on course load each semester.
