Job Description:
Under general supervision, inspect and test the accuracy of high-speed fuel meters, truck meters, loading rack meters, CNG meters, milk meters, and associated devices.
This position is assigned to the following counties:
· CHEROKEE
Job Summary:
· Thoroughly examine dispensing devices to ensure established standards are met
· Test and verify meter calibration
· Verifies accuracy of fuel dispensers by both monetary and volumetric indicators according to established procedures
· Responds to complaints promptly
· Investigates consumer complaints concerning the accuracy of pumping devices and prepares documentation as needed
· Attends meetings and training seminars for updates and information
· Interacts with all levels of the Department in a way that promotes respect, encourages cooperation, and contributes to excellent performance
· This position requires occasional overnight travel
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
· Must have a valid Georgia driver’s license
· Must have a clean driving record
· Must be able to back a trailer
· Must have communication and customer service skills
· Maintain the State vehicle and all equipment for the job
· Be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
· General knowledge of the Windows operating system and basic computer skills
· Basic mathematical skills
· High school diploma or GED required
· Selected applicants must reside or be willing to relocate within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory
Physical Demands:
· Standing for long periods of time; intermittent periods of walking, squatting, kneeling, or driving
· Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. for short periods of time.
