Agriculture Education Program Specialist – North Region
Job Summary
The Georgia Department of Education - Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education Division (CTAE) is seeking an experienced Agriculture Education Program Specialist to provide leadership, guidance, and support for agriculture education programs in the North Georgia Region. This field-based role will work under limited supervision to strengthen program quality, support teachers, and enhance opportunities for students in agricultural education and FFA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a member of the GaDOE Agricultural Education Team, supporting statewide goals, objectives, and policies under the direction of the Agriculture Education Program Manager
- Provide oversight and guidance for capital outlay funds to support facilities and equipment needs in regional schools
- Support FFA student organizations by supervising North Region area teacher staff and coordinating with State FFA leadership
- Supervise and guide professional development and teacher support initiatives led by area teacher staff
- Manage and allocate agriculture education-related grants, including extended day, extended year, and Young Farmer programs
- Assist local school systems with teacher recruitment, development, and retention for agriculture education programs
- Monitor accountability and compliance by reviewing teacher monthly reports and ensuring alignment with Program of Work Standards
- Travel frequently throughout the North Region, with occasional visits to the GaDOE main office in Atlanta
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications along with one or more the following qualifications will be given strong consideration:
- Master's Degree
- Demonstrated success as an agriculture education teacher and FFA Advisor, with measurable achievements in regional, state, and national FFA activities
- Proven leadership experience within a state or national teacher organization, or at the local school system level
Strong ability to build consensus, foster collaboration, and lead teams toward shared goals
