Adult Education HSE Lead Teacher
Job Summary
Major Duties
- Provide standards-based instruction for High School Equivalency (HSE) Tests (i.e., GED and HiSET) in the academic areas of language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies.
- Teach classes in a face-to-face and online format via Blackboard (70%)
- Provide first level support to all instructors and staff in the Adult Education program on the Newnan campus.
- Complete and maintain appropriate attendance and assessment records and ensure timely submission.
- Engage in recruitment and retention activities.
- Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Participate in required professional development and training for the position.
- Coordinate and provide appropriate student referrals for workforce training, wrap around service, HSE credential scholarships and testing and transition services.
- Review incoming student assessment results to accurately assign to appropriate classes based on skill level and learning needs.
- Support the mission and vision of the college, program and TCSG
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience teaching adults basic academic skills (reading, math, writing) in a formal educational setting and/or teaching experience in middle, secondary, adult or post-secondary education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience in adult education within the last two years.
- Advanced degree in content areas of reading, math, English, curriculum and instruction, adult education, or special education.
- Familiarity with the College and Career Standards.
Salary/Benefits/Hours:
Salary is $46,700 this is a full-time position. The successful candidate must be available to teach a combination of daytime and evening classes as scheduled.
